Sunday pre-conference session new
this year
Seasoned practitioners won’t want to miss this
seminar: Powerful Leadership. Seminar summary: In today’s
ever-changing world, being a leader means you must be open
to change. Not only in what you do, but how the world defines
what you do. Judith Phair will share stories and insights
to teach seasoned practitioners easy tips to remain at
the top of their game. New paradigms for leadership mean
that we must be open to new and different things, sometimes
things we never imagined would ever be part of our profession.
Today being a leader doesn’t measure how much you
know, but how we adapt and remain open to opportunity.
Talk about powerful! Our new Sunday afternoon session
speaker has held some powerful positions. Judith Phair,
APR , Fellow PRSA, is vice president of communications
for the Graduate Management Admission Council, an association
of 154 top graduate business schools around the world.
She is immediate past president and CEO of PRSA.
Since beginning her career as
a newspaper reporter, Phair (pronounced “fair”)
has moved on to work in public relations and advancement
for universities such as the University of Michigan,
as vice president for institutional advancement at the
University of Maryland Biotechnology Institute, as assistant
dean of external relations at Johns Hopkins University,
Baltimore, and as vice president for public relations
at Goucher College, Baltimore.
Phair was most recently vice president for public affairs
at the Council on Competitiveness, a nonpartisan, nonprofit
Washington, D.C.-based association of corporate chief executives,
university presidents and labor leaders working together
to set a national agenda for U.S. leadership in global
markets, technological innovation and education. She has
written and spoken extensively on public relations and
marketing issues in the United States and abroad, including
China , Italy , the United Kingdom , and Croatia . |
